Refrigerator recycling & disposal.
Fridges are the heaviest thing in the kitchen and the only one with federal disposal rules. Photograph yours and the path out, and we coordinate a proper pickup.
You can't curb a refrigerator, and you shouldn't want to. The refrigerant inside is the reason.
Why fridges have special rules
Refrigerators and freezers contain refrigerant that federal law requires be recovered by certified technicians before scrapping — it can't legally be vented. That's why transfer stations treat fridges differently and why they're routed to facilities equipped for refrigerant recovery. You don't manage any of that; it's handled downstream of the pickup.
Prep: empty, defrost, dry
Empty the unit completely, defrost freezers a day or two ahead, and prop the door with a towel at the base for the meltwater. A fridge that's been dead and sealed for months should be flagged honestly — spoiled contents are a different pickup experience and the crew should know before arrival.
The garage-fridge retirement plan
The classic DFW pattern: the kitchen gets a new fridge, the old one moves to the garage 'for drinks,' then runs inefficiently for five more years. When it's finally done, photograph it in place. Doorways, one step down into the garage, and the driveway distance are the whole access story — an easy version of a heavy job.
Four steps. No guesswork.

Schedule pickup
We coordinate availability with a local hauling crew.
Items removed
The crew completes pickup and confirms the space is cleared.
Asked before every pickup.
Do doors need to be removed for safety?
Crews handle door management during hauling. If a unit will sit accessible to kids before pickup, removing or securing doors in the meantime is smart.
Can commercial coolers be picked up?
Glass-door merchandisers and commercial units can be reviewed — photograph the unit and its location, since size and weight vary a lot.
What if the fridge still works?
Say so — working refrigerators are one of the strongest donation candidates in all of junk removal.
While the crew is there.
Bundled requests quote more efficiently than separate pickups — photograph everything that needs to go and it becomes one job.
Photos in. Quote back. Done.
